First Mass-Produced ZAP-X Set Leaves High-end Manufacturing Industrialization Base for Global Markets
2026-06-25
On June 25, 2026, the first ZAP-X Gyroscopic Radiosurgery Robot ("ZAP-X") unit produced at High-end Manufacturing Industrialization Base (hereinafter "the Base") was officially loaded and dispatched from The Airport Economic Zone of Beijing Daxing International Airport (Langfang Area). This marks the first time this globally leading precision brain radiotherapy device has achieved "Made in China, and delivered globally," and represents a significant milestone for Baheal Medical (301015.SZ) in deepening its footprint in the precision radiosurgery sector and completing its full-industry-chain layout. Leveraging China's supply chain strengths, the company will steadily expand its global supply capabilities for high-end radiotherapy equipment, further sharpening its competitive edge in the radiosurgery market worldwide.

ZAP-X, developed by John R. Adler, an internationally renowned neurosurgeon and CyberKnife® inventor, is a radiosurgery robot specifically designed for treating tumors and other indications for intracranial and neck region. It features the world’s first dual-gantry spherical focusing technology, allows for simple delivery of thousands of unique non-coplanar beam angles. Through the real-time imaging and dose validation system, it enables "real-time sensing + dynamic regulation" throughout the entire radiotherapy process, ensuring high-precision targeting while protecting surrounding healthy brain tissue. ZAP-X has now received market approval in 26 countries and regions and has completed more than 7,500 treatments. Following the successful dispatch of this first unit, subsequent mass-produced systems from the Base will be shipped to the United States, the Netherlands, Japan, and other countries for installation and commissioning at local medical institutions—steadily advancing global delivery.
Since Baheal Medical invested in ZAP-X developer ZAP Surgical in 2024 and formed a comprehensive partnership, the two companies have worked closely on its clinical introduction and global supply system. The Sino-US joint venture factory, Baheal-ZAP, operates the China manufacturing base and serves as ZAP-X's global production hub. The Base is equipped with domestically leading shielded test rooms for radiotherapy equipment and modular intelligent production lines, while strictly adhering to the U.S. FDA 21 CFR Part 820 Quality System Regulation. In 2026, the Base is expected to achieve mass production of 20 units; once fully completed, annual production capacity will reach 100 units, with overseas orders accounting for roughly 80%. This will significantly improve global delivery capacity and accelerate adoption at medical institutions worldwide.
In China, Baheal continues to advance ZAP-X's clinical rollout. The company has partnered with multiple medical institutions, including Peking University International Hospital and Jinan Junxin Cancer Hospital, to co-establish third-party radiosurgery centers. Initial installation has been completed at Peking University International Hospital and Beijing Xuanwu Hospital, and the ZAP-X Radiosurgery Center at Peking University International Hospital is set to open soon—offering more precise treatment options for millions of brain tumor patients across China.
Looking ahead, Baheal will use the mass production and global export of ZAP-X as a new starting point. Building on a full-industry-chain system spanning "global technology introduction and cultivation, made-in-China supply for the world, radiotherapy center service innovation, and continuous clinical validation," the company will deepen its full-disease-scenario layout covering "brain + body + cardiac" radiotherapy, further amplify the advantages of local high-end manufacturing and global supply chains, accelerate the popularization of cutting-edge radiotherapy technologies, and bring more advanced and accessible treatment solutions to patients worldwide.
